Governmental intercession is prayer or action that, through the authority of Christ, releases His kingdom rule and enforces His will in any given situation. This is accomplished through spiritual weapons, which operate in the spiritual realm and overcome the invisible powers of Satan's kingdom, resulting in the release of God's will and government to humans, institutions and governments. - Dutch Sheets

What We Believe

We Believe in...

... the Bible. The verbal inspiration, and reliability of the Holy Scriptures. (11 Tim, 3:16; 11 Pet. 1:20)

... the Trinity. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Mt. 28:18-20)

... Jesus. His eternal deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension and imminent return. (Jn. 1:1; Is. 7:14, Lk. 1:26-38...

... the Holy Spirit. That He dwells in the heart of every believer to impart the character of Christ, and comes upon God's people in power to equip them for ministry. His gifts are available to every believer today, and are necessary for the church to function as God intended. (Acts 2:38-39; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; I Corinthians 14)

... Forgiveness of sins, available only through the blood of Jesus. (Mt. 26:27-28)

... Salvation, by grace, through faith, apart from any works of our own. (Eph. 2:8-9)

... Divine Healing for the whole man, through the stripes of Jesus. (Is. 53:5)

... The Lord's Supper, a covenant meal celebrating our unity with Jesus and one another. (Lk. 22:19-20, 1 Cor. 10:16-17)

... Water Baptism, a public testimony of our identification with Jesus in His death and resurrection life, (Rom. 6:3-4)

... Worship. Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. (I Pt. 2:9)

... Missions. Our call is to take the good news of LIFE in Jesus to a lost and hurting world. (Mt 28:19-20)

  • A servant's heart is key in praying for those in authority;

  • Rely on the authority of God's word and the things He has already decreed in the earth as you pray;

  • Commit to pray for President Obama, the judiciary at all levels, and issues concerning righteousness and justice in our nation;

  • Commit to pray for your local governmental leaders within your city and county;

  • Our prayers should be based on faith, rooted in a sincere love for those for whom we are praying;

  • Specific prayer requests received from the governmental leader should be kept in confidence;

  • We encourage correspondence that would encourage the governmental leader. Concise notes of encouragement are appropriate;
